Graveside Service will be Monday, December 4, 2023 at 10:00 AM in the Garden of Rest at Hampton Vaughan Crestview Memorial Park. Visitation will be Sunday, December 4, 2023 from 2:00 until 4:00 PM at Hampton Vaughan Crestview Funeral Home.
Virgil was born March 25, 1944 in Wichita Falls, Texas to Virgil and Wanda Smith. He retired from the Texas Department of Transportation in 2003 after 37 years of service. He was a proud blood donor, donating over 60 gallons of blood in his lifetime. All who knew him knew Virgil had a love for racing. He instilled this passion into his 3 sons, Matt, Mark and Michael. He rarely missed one of their races and always had his wife of 59 years, Gaila, by his side. His grandchildren were his greatest joy. He was involved and present in most all of their activities.
Virgil is preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Gaila.
He is survived by his three sons, Matthew and wife Laura, Mark and wife Lara, and Michael and wife, Penny; 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
