Ada Shain, age 86, passed away on June 9, 2025. She was born July 27, 1938, to Marion Young and Violet Young in Pierce, Colorado.
Ada was the next to the youngest of nine children. Six boys and three girls. Her formal schooling ended at 8th grade from a one room country school near West Plains, Missouri. She married her husband Earl in 1957 and began a family. Her and Earl had two sons, Richard and Terry. Ada liked to sew, crocheted, but spent most of her time in her yard. She worked at JC Penny for almost 30 years and then worked at Andover State Bank until she retired. She was a member of the East Point Church of Christ.
She was a preceded in death by her parents, Marion and Violet Young; brothers, Roy Young, Ray Young, Arlin Young, Marlin Young, Frank Young, and Lem Young; sister, Annice Young; husband, Earl Shain; and son, Terry Shain.
Ada is survived by her son, Richard Shain; two grandchildren, Ian (Trista) and Tyler Shain (Kaitlyn); three great-grandchildren, Emerson and Emberly Shain (Ian & Trista), and Adley Shain (Tyler & Kaitlyn), with a fourth due in late June of this year (Riley Shain); her sister, Louise Fix; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.
Funeral Service for Ada will be held at 10:00 am, June 18th, 2025, with an hour prior visitation from 9:00am to 10:00am, at East Point Church of Christ, 747 N. 127th St. E. Wichita, Kansas 67206.
