Allen was born to Rodney and Marlene Whitmer on Oct 4, 1964, in Salina Kansas. He was a graduate of Mulvane High School & attended Kansas State University & Butler County Community College. Allen served 2 years in the Air National Guard. He worked at Boeing, then Spirit Aerosystems before an injury at work rendered him disabled. Throughout his life, Allen was an avid hunter, fisherman and loved sharing that passion with friends & family.
Allen is survived by his mother, Marlene Longnecker; sister; Tammy(Brian) Rothgeb; brother, Rob Whitmer; Nieces & Nephews: Jamie (Tyler)Hodgson, Kelsey(Rick)Stecher, Haley Whitmer, Jake Whitmer, Max Whitmer, and Kyle Whitmer. He is also survived by four bonus siblings & their families, Ann Funderburk, William(Deb) Longnecker, John (Erin) Longnecker and Bob Longnecker.
He is preceded in death by his father, Rodney Whitmer; bonus father; William Longnecker; and bonus sister, Robin Dunn.
A celebration of life will be on Saturday Jan, 11th at Resthaven Chapel, 11800 West Highway 54, Wichita, KS 67209 at 1:00 pm. If you are so inclined, please feel free to honor Allen by wearing camouflage or the colors of his favorite team, The University of Kansas.
