

After graduating college with a Bachelor's Degree in 1962, he enlisted in the South Vietnamese Military Police and became Captain in 1975. In 1964, he married Hanh Nguyen and in 1965 the first born son was Thu Le, Anh Le, then came the only daughter Tu Le, Tuoc Le, Phuc Le, then the youngest son Phuoc Le.
Following the end of the Vietnam War on April 30, 1975 An Le and his wife fled to Thailand by boat and stayed there for 6 months. The 6 children left behind with grandparents and family ranged from age 10 to 2 years old. A couple in Shawnee, Oklahoma sponsored them for a year to obtain their visas. George and Lovetta Carroll became grandparents to the Le family and taught them English and helped with job opportunities as well as a place to live. In 1977, An Le and his wife moved to Wichita, Kansas to work at Excel Meat Packing to save money to send back home in Vietnam for their children. An Le worked tirelessly with the Kansas Governor and Kansas Senator to apply for visas for their 6 children. In 1983, the United States government granted the visas which reunited the 6 children with their parents in Wichita. His career service at Excel ended after 20 years due to the company moving. Following Excel he graduated from Voltech School and became a CNC Machinist for Aerospace Industry and retired in 2017. Wichita became their home and place to build the future for their family. His life order is God, family and friends. Devout Catholic, saying the rosary 3 times a day, and wouldn't miss church every Sunday.
His hobbies included listening to Vietnamese Bolero music, he loved to road trip on vacations and just take in all of the scenery. His favorite food was pho, rice soup and banh mi heo quay. An Le enjoyed listening to the world news, American news and debating politics. He liked to exercise in the park and read history books.
A visitation for An Hoai Le will be held Friday, May 16, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Resthaven Mortuary, 11800 West Highway 54, Wichita, KS 67209. An American Rosary will occur Friday, May 16, 2025 at 6:00 PM followed by a Vietnamese Rosary at 7:00 PM both at Resthaven Mortuary. A funeral service will occur Saturday, May 17, 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at St Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 861 N Socora St, Wichita, KS 67212. A graveside service will occur Saturday, May 17, 2025 following the mass at Resurrection Cemetery, 1640 N Maize Rd, Wichita, KS 67212. After the graveside service a luncheon will be provided back at St Francis of Assisi Catholic Church for all to attend.
