

Kildow (Stein), Ann, 86, retired Blanchat Machine purchasing agent passed away February 4, 2015. Ann was born in 1928 to Carey and Helen Hudson in Jackson, Mississippi. She and her family moved to Memphis, Tennessee, soon after she was born and she would call Memphis her home until she was 18. She graduated from Humes High School in 1946 and married her first husband Carl Stein that same year. In 1948, her and Carl moved to Wichita, Kansas, where she would live out her remaining years. Carl passed away in 1992. In 1994, she married her second husband Orville Kildow. Ann was a Charter Member of Harvest Community Church established in 1991 where she would volunteer and attend until her passing. She was also a regular attendee of Wichita’s Riverfest; attending for 30 plus years. She loved reading books on American History, and enjoyed spending time gardening. She was a proud American, Kansan, Wichitan, and enjoyed traveling. She had a gracious and loving heart. She will be dearly Missed. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Carl Stein and Orville Kildow; son, Donald Stein; brothers, Pete and Rick Hudson; grandson, Tom Gile. She is survived by her daughter, Carol (Sam) Beat; children, Gary (Faith) Kildow of Gray, GA, Pat (Ray) Smith of Broken Arrow, OK; sister, Nita McGuire of Memphis, TN; grandchildren, Brad Gile, Jenny Sheldon, Kevin and Lee Smith; great grandchildren, Andrea and Brett Gile, Braden Smith, Ashton and Payton Smith. Ann was a proud American, Kansan, and Wichitan. Visitation is Sunday, Feb. 8, 4-7 p.m. at Resthaven Mortuary 11800 W. Hwy 54. Her funeral service is 10:00 a.m. Monday, Feb. 9, at Harvest Community Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Harvest Community Church, 8340 W. 21st St. N., Wichita, Kansas 67205.
