Appel M. Grisby

Grisby, Appel M, 55, passed away June 19, 2015 while on vacation in Colorado. Appel was a homemaker and previous worked at the Ronald McDonald House and The Urban League of Kansas. She also had a small business called “Appie Designs” which she handmade purses. She also worked at Foster Designs where she met her husband of 24 years. She was president of the (Leo) Lawrence Elementary School for 3 years. She received her degree in Psychology from Wichita State in 2006 and also worked there in ad-office. She was a volunteer in many areas. She was a loving and devoted wife and mother. Her motto in life was “I live for God”. She was preceded in death by her parents, Boyd and Patrica Tuxhorn. She is survived by her loving husband, Collis E. Grisby; son, Tyler Jalen (TJ) Grisby; sisters, Carol (Jerry) Ignoto, Susie (Chris) Oleson; brother, Rydal (Melany) Tuxhorn; father and mother-in-law, Freddie L. Grisby and Jo Marion Grisby; sister-in-law, Arethia (Robert) Cowden; nieces, Essence, TuTu, Callie, Nicole, Amanda; nephews, Jeremy, Justin, Skylar, Chris, Troy, Eric and many dear and close friends and a loving cat, Maddie. It was evident in all she did she loved spending time with family and friends, making crafts and reading. She was always there to lend a hand or “ear”. She was truly a beautiful person and will be missed beyond words. Visitation is 4 to 7 pm Sunday and funeral service is 10:00 am Monday, June 29 both at Resthaven Mortuary.
