With her constant companion, Button — a devoted Maltese therapy dog — Barbara brought comfort and joy to thousands of patients in hospitals and nursing homes. Their visits also reached schools, businesses, and communities affected by tornadoes, offering much-needed stress relief and compassion.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Capt. James Thomas Davis, a B-52 pilot whose memory she cherished deeply.
Barbara is survived by her sister, Norma Lou Hilton; her son, Jim Davis; and her grandsons, Trevor and Brandon Davis.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at Lakeview Cemetery, in the Garden of Meditation, located at 12100 E. 13th Street N., Wichita, Kansas 67207.
In lieu of flowers, Barbara requested that donations be made to HAPI (Hands and Pets, Inc.) or Victory in the Valley, organizations close to her heart.
Her legacy of kindness, education, and healing will continue to inspire all who knew her.
