August 25, 1938 – October 21, 2026
Barbara J. Love passed away on October 21, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of family, friendship, business, and community involvement that touched countless lives.
Born on August 25, 1938, Barbara was the oldest of eight children born to Raymond and Odelia Phillips. She attended Wichita West High School and later married Don F. Love on August 22, 1969. Together, they built a life centered on family, hard work, and a shared passion for business.
Barbara and Don were the owners of Don Love Aircraft Sales, serving customers across the United States and in many parts of the world. Barbara’s business acumen, energy, and enthusiasm for life grew alongside her family. She was also an avid bowler for many years, enjoying the friendships and camaraderie that came with the sport.
Barbara and Don believed in supporting their community and sponsored numerous organizations and teams over the years. In 1984, baseball became the family sport, beginning a new and meaningful chapter in their lives. Barbara joined the Board of Directors at Westurban Little League and served as commissioner for many years. Managing an organization with 125 teams was no small undertaking, and Don devoted much of his spare time to helping as well.
Their dedication extended far beyond the playing fields. It took the efforts of many volunteers to make the organization successful, and along the way, those shared experiences created lasting friendships. Baseball became more than a sport; it became a family tradition and a source of lifelong memories. Even after retiring from her official duties many years ago, Barbara continued to follow her great-grandchildren through the 2026 summer season, remaining a devoted and enthusiastic supporter of the next generation.
Above all, Barbara’s greatest joy was her growing family. She is survived by her daughters, Pam, Cheryl, and LeAnne; and her five grandchildren: Brandon and Jarred Grimsley, Cody and Casey Schweninger, and RyeLea Culverhouse. Her family continued to grow through her beloved great-grandchildren: Pierce, Jackson and Gabby Grimsley; June and Layla Grimsley; Austin, Addilyn, Easton, Delaney, Brooks, and Cason Schweninger; and Hadley, Sutton, Leighton, and Knox Culverhouse.
Barbara is also survived by her siblings Betty Stiles, Rayma LaMunyon, Debbie Barlow, Kenny Phillips, and Mike Phillips.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Odelia Phillips; her husband Don Love; her sister, Treva Warzocha and brother, Bill Phillips.
Barbara’s life was defined by her devotion to family, her commitment to her business, and her willingness to give her time and energy to the community she loved. From the business world to the bowling lanes, from the Little League fields to the sidelines cheering on her great-grandchildren, she built a legacy that will continue through the many generations of family and friends who were fortunate enough to know her.
Her family and the many people whose lives she touched will carry her memory forward, celebrating a life well lived and a legacy that will endure.
Service for Barbara will be at 1p.m. on Friday, October 30, 2026 at Resthaven Mortuary, 11800 W Hwy 54, Wichita KS 67209.
