Faye was born in Herington, KS. to Verna Cameron and Ellsworth Thornton (both deceased). She spent most of her life in Abilene, Salina and Park City, KS.
Faye worked as a waitress in Salina, KS. before joining the manufacturing workforce at Rickel Manufacturing, Tony’s Pizza Service and Exide Battery, all in the Salina area. She went on to Beech Aircraft, first in Salina and then to the Wichita plants where she retired after 15 years as a shipping and parts employee.
Faye is survived by three daughters, Kelly Brown-Ayres(Richard), Kerry Salinas, Laura Harris, one son, Edward Mathis (Amy), a stepdaughter, Stephanie Hart (Donald) and a stepson, Jason Hook (Mari Ann) and many wonderful grandchildren and great grand children.
Her husband of 35 years, Jay, and grandson Anthony Couch, of the home, also survive her along with brothers John Lee, Bill Lee (Sue), Dan Lee and a sister, Sharon Campbell.
Faye’s quiet source of pride were her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a glow when hearing of their achievements, progress and seeing them succeed.
Faye was a very private person and requested no service be held.
May God rest her soul.
