I have been privileged to call Beryl my friend for many years. Even through the sadness I can remember special times we shared. Beryl 's wicked sense of humor never seemed to leave her. Her concern for others and incredible grace in handling illness and pain were inspiring. I will miss our talks and knowing that she was always there for me.
Rest without pain now, my friend.

Beryl was my suitemate at the State University of New York at Stony Brook. I remember her as one of the sweetest, kindest and gentlest people I knew. She always had a smile on her face, never raised her voice or lost her temper. I saw her a few years ago when a group of us got together to have lunch in Manhattan, of all places. Same smile, same good nature. Rest in peace, Beryl. You were a woman with a heart of gold and a soul to match.
