

Hutton, Beverly B (Coldsnow), 87, beloved Wife, loving Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Aunt, Friend, joined the heavenly choir on January 16, 2015. Her family is grateful for her very active life she enjoyed until January 12. She was an avid fan of WSU and KU basketball. Beverly was born November 12, 1927 in Kansas City, MO but spent most of her life in Wichita, KS, graduating from East High School in 1945. She was a member of the National Honor Society and graduated from Wichita State University in 1949 with a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education. She joined the Mu Phi Epsilon sorority in 1946 and remained an active member throughout her life, serving as a District Director). Beverly also joined the Alpha Tau Sigma Sorority (now Delta Gamma) serving as President in her senior year. She was elected to the Senior Women’s Honor Group, which later became Mortar Board, in her junior year at WSU. In 1975, Beverly earned a Masters in Music Education from WSU School of Fine Arts. She married George E. (Ed) Hutton, Jr. on January 23, 1949, so close to 66 years of happy marriage that we all must agree it still counts. Beverly and Ed lived in Dodge City, KS for the first 2 years of their marriage then returned home to Wichita. Together they welcomed three children, which expanded to a loving family of 4 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren. In addition to her constant devotion to her Christian faith and her family, music and music education were the center of her life. Beverly leaves a legacy of the many piano students she taught, as well as the hundreds of young lives that she introduced music to when she taught at Oaklawn Elementary school for 16 years and where in 1982 she was honored with the “Master Teacher Award”. She retired in 1984 from the Derby schools, and then served as a substitute teacher for the Wichita school system for seven years. Beverly was a founding member of Dawson United Methodist Church where she founded and served as the Choir Director for 50 years. After handing over the choir, she continued as the pianist and organist, last playing for church services on January 11, 2015. Beverly was preceded in death by her parents (Edith and Elmer Coldsnow) and her two brothers (James W. Coldsnow and Robert Allen Coldsnow). She is survived by her husband, Ed, daughters Ann Nedich (Wichita) and Susan Hutton (New York), son Mark (Mary) Hutton (Wichita), grandsons Ben (Erin) Hutton (Wichita), Brian (Krista) Hutton (Wichita), Brett (Kara) Nedich (Newton, KS), grand-daughter Sarah Nedich (Chris) Farnsworth (Kansas City, KS), and 9 great grandchildren (Wesley, Bethany, Shepherd, Elijah, Kamdyn, Parker, and Sawyer Hutton, and Amare and Onnyka Nedich). Mom - We pray for your safe journey and happy eternal after-life – we love you and miss you so much – but, we know that you are now in the comfort of the Lord Jesus Christ and heaven, and will be our Angel taking care of us all from above. Visitation with family at Resthaven Mortuary (11800 W Highway 54, Wichita, KS 67209) on Wednesday, January 21st from 6 PM – 8 PM. A Celebration of Beverly’s Life will be held Thursday, January 22nd at 11:00 AM at Dawson United Methodist Church, 2741 S. Laura, Wichita, KS.
