Billy Nelson Maynard

Maynard, Billy Nelson, 70, flight safety instructor, passed away June 15, 2011. Billy was a retired First Sergeant, United States Army and a member of Garfield Masonic Lodge #501 who enjoyed reading, woodworking and flying. Billy received several medals including the Bronze Star Medal. He was preceded in death by parents, Otto and Faye Muncy Maynard. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Dyck-Maynard; son, William K. “Billy” (Heather) Maynard of Lawton, OK.; daughter, Charis (Scott) Freeman of Norman, OK.; the mother of his children, Muriel Maynard of Lawton, OK.; brothers, Roger (Judy) Maynard John Robert Maynard and Randal (Susan) Maynard all of MI.; grandchildren Brittney & Tiffney Maynard, Christopher Freeman, Robert (Bear) Hoadley, Jessica Beasley and many nieces and nephews. Viewing is from 12-8 p.m. Friday, June 24, with family receiving 6-7 p.m. and funeral service 3 p.m. Saturday, June 25, both at Resthaven Mortuary.
