Coach Preston was a super nice guy and great coach. My brother, Dave Davis played for him.  May he rest in Peace!

I remember Coach Preston was always very gentle and matter of fact, very pleasant to be around . 
I loved his voice and I remember it still. 

Coach had the World Series on TV in the gym; Joe Woods walks in wearing his jacket and no shirt.  lol Bob says so your quitting school and can't even afford a shirt....... good move Joe........ nervous laughter;  cause you didn't disrespect Joe Woods. Coach Preston could though ha those were the days. 

Coach Preston was my P.E. teacher at Hamilton Middle School in the early 90's. Til this very day I still talk about Coach Preston!💞 He was an amazing person. He told me that he believed in me and that I am capable of accomplishing anything in life. He taught me how to walk on stilts, juggle, and how to stand on one foot for however long I want! I am now 40 years old and can still do it all 😆 Everytime i do any of these...I think of Coach P.  Most of all he taught me to give it all I've got and to never give up...no matter what. Coach Preston was my coach at Hamilton Jr. High from 79 to 82.  He was very encouraging to me.  Always a smile, stern, and helpful.  I have fond memories of him.  I has the honor of being his track and field manager.  Great times!  I am praying for the family!

Bob has been in my families life since High School when he decided to marry his long time friend and my grandma Christine Preston (Sheets).

He was so good to her and I know she was able to keep going in large part because of him and how he always took care of her.   

We had a lot of fun memories together during Christmas / Thanksgiving dinners and birthday parties. Talking KU basketball and how good they are, or KU football and how bad haha. (I can see him laughing to that bad joke of mine)

What I will remember most about Bob is his excellent fitness, strong faith and ability to keep pushing forward, no matter what.

We love and miss you Bob.  Say hi to Grandma Christine for us.

Coach was the greatest. I ran track for him at Hamilton Jr High all 3 years in the 80s. Loved him. He was always encouraging and was a great friend. Sure going to miss him. I know he is in Heaven couching Gods team of Angels!

Coach Preston was perhaps my favorite coach of all time. I had him as my track coach for three years back in the early 60s.  I always thought that he was confident and knowledgeable about the sport. This in turn helped me to be more confident and feeling safe to be under his guidance.  He was a great coach. 

Coach Preston was my P.E. Coach back in 1971 through 1974.  I have very fond memories of his teaching and coaching style.  He was very encouraging to me during my high school wrestling when he worked the meets and I still have some of his sayings engrained in my mind.  So sorry to hear of the loss.  He was a good man.

My Jr. High Coach.  Later in life into my early adulthood, he talked me into taking the test and classes to be a high school football official.  Did it for twenty years.  Great experience.  Thanks Coach. 

Coach was my gym teacher at John Marshall Jr. High back in the 60’s. He was always nice and made gym class a fun experience! RIP

Coach Preston was a gem of a man. 
His dignity and patience set a sterling example for the students around him.

Mr. Preston was my Jr. High PE coach in the 80's.  I am grateful to have had him for a PE teacher, he was a great man, he really connected with his students. As others have stated he was a favorite of so many at Hamilton. Rest In Peace Coach.  My condolences to the family.

Played for “Coach” in the 70’s at John Marshall.    Loved the discipline and knowledge to make us a good as he could. 
Always made us believe in ourselves. 

Was fortunate to run into him many times throughout the years  & he always had something humorous & positive to say.

He was always a dedicated  fair coach and good guy. Will never forget his whistle strap! 

Mr. Preston was  my PE coach in the early 80's at Hamilton Jr. High. My condolences to the family, "Coach" was a great man, we all liked him. 

Coach Preston was my coach at Hamilton Jr. High.  He coached me in track and P.E.  Not sure of his age back then but he was extremely fit and an example to me to be fit throughout life.  

Coach was also great with all of us kids. Even though we came from all walks of life, he treated us all with dignity and love. Coach had my respect the first time I stepped on the gym floor.

I know Coach will be missed and I trust he is in better care now. Coach Preston, my favorite.

Coach  had a huge impact on all of us who played for him. He was a difference maker. His discipline and character, his great personality, have never left my mind.  RIP Coach, Thank you!

Coach Preston was a great Coach and a better person.  He could be so funny and still put you in your place.  He was my first Coach and will always be 1st 

I am sorry for your loss coach. He was my coach at John Marshall jr. High. Made an impression on me   he was a fine man 

I don't know how to Thank Coach on how for helping me find the right path for my life. Coach was not just about winning-which we did, but doing the right things in life.  Coach was the first to believe in me, that i could do bigger things in life.  Most of the teachers said
i better learn a skill to work because I would not make it past jr high.
It was all about attitude and hard work  in sports as well in life--no short cuts--Work for Purpose--Happiness--Sharing --Team  before Self.    Remember to Honor Your Eldors.   
Coach will always be in my  Heart.
