Bogdan T. Bonev

April 1, 1952 – July 5, 2025
Obituary of Bogdan T. Bonev
IN THE CARE OF

Lakeview Funeral Home & Cemetery

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Bogdan Bonev, who left us on July 5, 2025, at the age of 73.

Born on April 1, 1952, in Burgas, Bulgaria, Bogdan was the beloved son of Luba Antonova and Tzanko Bonev, both of whom preceded him in death. In his mid to late twenties, he moved to the United States in search of new opportunities. Starting with nothing, he worked diligently in various jobs and, over time, built his own painting business and became a landlord. His determination and resilience were reflected in every aspect of his life.

Although Bogdan achieved much throughout his career, his proudest and most meaningful accomplishment was marrying his lovely wife, Hatike, and starting a family. Becoming a father at the age of 44 was a milestone he cherished deeply. He was a devoted, loving, and proud father to his sons, Denis and Alex. His family meant everything to him, and he treasured every moment spent with them.

A true social butterfly, Bogdan also loved spending time with friends, bringing laughter and joy to every gathering. He had a passion for sports, with soccer, swimming, tennis, and roller skating being among his favorites. He remained active throughout his life, and his enthusiasm for life was contagious. Bogdan loved traveling, particularly returning to Bulgaria to visit old friends and reconnect with his roots. In quieter moments, he enjoyed playing backgammon and chess.

Bogdan is survived by his beloved wife, Hatike Boneva, and his two sons, Denis Bonev and Alex Bonev. His presence, kindness, and joyful spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His memory will be forever cherished by his family and the many lives he touched.

A small private gathering will be held at a later time, with details to be disclosed by the family.
