Carl Nicholas Hayes 88, US Navy Veteran of WWII, mechanic of 40 years, and Dillon's delivery driver, joined his heavenly family June 15, 2017. Carl was born on a farm near Jet, OK, to George Hayes and Catherine “Katie” Hayes Nov. 10, 1928. He married Leona Wayman in 1950. He and Leona raised four children, Carl, Howard, Mary, and Leona. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, wife, son, Howard, brothers; Billy, Howard, Leonard, and Bob; sisters, Anna Wade and Mary Sutterfield. He is survived by his beloved wife, Bertha Pierce-Hayes whom he married Oct. 3, 1997; son, Carl (Rebecca) Hayes; daughters, Mary (Ron) Haines, and Leona (Jimmie) Merrick; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family members. A visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Mon. June 19, 2017 and funeral service will be held 1p.m. Tues. June 20, 2017 both at Resthaven Mortuary.
