Carolyn Jean Sherrill

Jean passed away on Saturday, April 4, 2026, at the age of 86 in Wichita, Kansas. She was born to Willis E. and Gloris Posey Watts on February 24, 1940, in Wichita, Kansas. She had five siblings, Nellie, Charles, Larry, Mary and Kelly.

Carolyn attended Wichita High School East and later received her GED. She was married to William Edward Sherrill in Wichita, Kansas and together they had four children, William Eugene, Deborah Lynn, Curtis Lee and Maka Elaine.

Carolyn worked in hospitality. She worked as a cook for the hospital and was well known for her delicious cooking. She attended the Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church for 13 years. She also enjoyed playing Words With Friends, Candy Crush and Fishdom on her tablet.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; sister and her oldest son. She is survived by her children, Deborah, Curtis, Maka; sister, Mary; brother, Kelly; several grandchildren; great grandchildren and her beloved cat, Layla.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, April 9, 2026, from 5-7 pm and funeral service on Friday, April 10, 2026, at 1 pm, both at Resthaven Mortuary, 11800 W Hwy 54, Wichita, KS 67209.
