Cathi Michelle Sontag

Cathi Sontag passed away surrounded by the love of her children on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at the age of 59. She was born on November 14, 1965, to Larry and Rita (Blackburn) Caswell in Wichita, Kansas.

The family shares a few stories about Cathi. She enjoyed visits with her nanny and granddad growing up, and adored her mother, Rita and father, Larry. Cathi was a free spirit and unrestrained by convention. She was a loving mother and also the neighborhood mom, known endearingly as “Miss Cathi” to all of the children that she watched over. She loved spending time with her friends and enjoyed being at the lake surrounded by her people. She was the life of the party and always ready to have a good time. She adored being a “grammy” to her grandson Trenton, who was the light of her life and an incredible motivation for her. She loved being goofy with him, spoiling him and watching him play sports.

Cathi was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Mark Caswell. She is survived by her children, Brent (Sarah) Sontag and Maggi Sontag; brother, Larry Caswell and grandson, Trenton Lemon.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 21, 2025, at 1 PM at Resthaven Mortuary, 11800 W Hwy 54, Wichita, Kansas 67209.
