

Brewer, Charles M.,February 29th, 1929 – September 27th, 2012. Charlie was a beloved husband, grandfather, and great grandfather. He was a man who always had a smile on his face and knew just how to put one on others. Charles Maxwell Brewer was born in Birmingham, AL, to Chester and Gertrude (DeBoe) Brewer. He lived most of his life in Wichita, KS and was employed by Ralston Purina Company. Charlie worked many positions before retiring as Quality Assurance Manager after 35 years of service. After retirement Charlie fulfilled a longtime dream of owning his own business. In 1987 he and his wife Patty opened their tanning salon B-Tan. They brought sunshine into the lives of their customers and employees, who eventually became a part of their family. Charlie loved his family, becoming a father at the age of seventeen he raised daughters Patricia (Robert) Hemberger of Grand Junction, CO, Betty (Kenny) Caviness of Wichtia, KS, Debra (James) Davis of Wichita, KS, and son Mike Brewer (deceased). His marriage to Patty Brewer in 1983 brought him the joy of four more daughters Tammy (Daniel) Willard of Wichita, KS, Laurie (Robert) LeBoeuf of Houston, TX, Kristin (Russell) Barbeau of Andale, KS, and Lea Ann (Justin) Latrell of Phoenix, AZ . Charlie is also survived by his sister Sherrie (Pat) Carmondy of Longview, WA, many grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Visitation is Sunday September 30th from 1pm to 8pm at Resthaven Mortuary and Cemetery in Wichita, KS. The family will be present from 1pm to 3pm. Services will be held Monday October 1st at 10am at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 7901 West 21st Street North, Wichita, KS.
