In Loving Memory

Charles Frederick French Sr., affectionately known as “Chuck”, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 4, 2025, at the age of 90. Born in Rochester, NY, on February 4, 1935, he was the fifth of seven children born to Frederick W. French and Regina H. (Gauss) French.

Chuck proudly served his country for 20 years in the United States Air Force, followed by dedicated service with the United States Post Office and Hertz Car Rental. Chuck and his beloved wife, Jane, owned and operated their own TV shop together—a testament to their shared entrepreneurial spirit.

In 1958, Chuck met the love of his life, Jane L. Bell-Maley, through a pen pal exchange. Their connection blossomed into a lifelong romance, and they were married in Wichita on April 8, 1967. Together, they built a long and loving life filled with family and kindness. Both having a heart of gold! Chuck and Jane shared a passion for travel—often taking spontaneous drives just to enjoy the journey together, until her passing.

Chuck was known for his easygoing nature and his ability to connect with everyone he met. He never looked down on anyone and was loved for his warm heart and gentle spirit. In his younger years, he enjoyed bowling and baseball.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frederick and Regina French; wife, Jane French; daughter, Lynda French; brothers, Fred and Rich French; and his sisters, Virginia, Nora, and Barb.

Chuck is survived by his sons, Charles, Mike, and Pat; daughters, Sharron, Karon, Janet, Debra, Janene, and Lisa; sister, Delores Przypbycien; as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and extended relatives.

Chuck and Jane’s legacy of love, kindness, and family will live on in the hearts of all who knew them.
