91, fell into the arms of Jesus and taken home to Heaven on March 19, 2017. He was born on January 21, 1926 in Enid, Oklahoma where he lived through out his childhood. He served his country during WWII in the U.S. Navy. Charles spent most of his adult life in Wichita, retiring from Boeing after 34 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Rosa Johnson; all fourteen of his siblings and one granddaughter, Natasha Petitt. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Marilyn, of the home; two sons, Larry (Karyl) Johnson, of Augusta, Kansas, Charles (Judy) Johnson, Jr., of Amarillo, Texas; one daughter, Karen (Dr. Rob) Dakin, of Wichita, Kansas; nine grandchildren, Kristina (David) Dilli, Lisa (Phil) Drown, Charlie (Jean) Byers, Nicole Johnson, Joshua (Shelby) Dakin, Jeffrey Dakin, Aubrey (Joshua) Newman, Jonathan Dakin, Joseph Dakin; seventeen great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 21, 2017. Funeral service at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 both at Resthaven Mortuary. A memorial has been established with Immanuel Baptist Church, 1415 S. Topeka St., Wichita, Kansas 67211.
