Charles "Chuck" William Melton

Charles was the son of the late Newton C. Melton and Chrystel E. Zink.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Darlene Melton. Their marriage, which began in 1964, was blessed with a daughter, Linda Melton-LaPierre.

Charles graduated from Roosevelt High School in Emporia, Kansas in 1953. He began his career at Didde Glasser in Emporia and later retired from the Love Box Company, where he worked as a semi-truck driver.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Robert

Melton (Paula) and James Melton (Lucille), Nephews and Niece.

He is survived by his wife, daughter, granddaughter, Milena LaPierre, and his grandson, Clay LaPierre. Also survived by daughter, Charlette Cleavenger.

Charles will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and loyal friend. He adored his grandchildren who always made him smile.

A visitation will be held at Resthaven Mortuary, located at 11800 West Highway 54, Wichita, KS, 67209, on December 12, 2025, from 12:00 pm until 1pm.

The funeral service will take place at the same venue on December 12, 2025, starting at 1:00 pm.
