A fiery spirited soul, Charlotte was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and daughter. She dedicated her life to others; especially in taking care of her son as well as never asking for anything in return. Though she attracted a spotlight, she always shed light on others. Every person she touched, she left a lasting impression. She was loved by many and never knew a stranger. Charlotte enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, as well as camping, gambling, cook-outs, gardening. She made sure to be the life of the party in this life and in the next.
Charlotte met her rough and rustic companion, the love of her life, Gary Colbert, and married him on May 31, 1968 in Kechi, Kansas. He passed away on November 15, 2020, and she happily joined him.
Charlotte worked as school aide for Abilene Elementary from 1976-77, and she was a teller at Wichita Greyhound Park for a few years, ending up at Kansas Fire & Equipment as a secretary, where she retired in 2004.
While there are certainly those who passed before her, Charlotte is survived by her son, Craig L. Colbert; daughter, Kimberly L. Moss; grandchildren, Kaylee Moss, Kameron Moss, and Amy Baron; great-granddaughter, Halee Baron; several cousins; and her favorite fur-children, Bandit, Chloe, and Paisley.
