Chester Ray Richards Jr.

Richards, Chester R., Jr. “Ray”, 81, retired Director of Cost Estimating and Government Contracts at Cessna Aircraft passed away June 27, 2012. Ray was born on a farm near Geary, OK in 1930. Ray was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth M. (Schmidt) Richards and his parents Chester R. and Rhoma Richards, Sr. He is survived by his brother, Marion Richards (Joan) of Thornton, CO; sisters, Annetta (Leroy) Vickery of Denver, CO, Janice (Alvin) Vickery of Thornton, CO; and many nieces and nephews. He graduated from WSU. Ray served his country in the Air Force and as a major in the reserves. Besides his 41 years of employment at Cessna, he spent many hours on the golf course. He was a past president of Wichita Golf Association. He also donated time to youth golf instruction at Pawnee Prairie Golf Course. He was a proud member of Midian Shrine, Albert Pike Lodge 303 and Scottish Rite. Viewing is Monday, July 2, 12 to 8 pm with family receiving friends 6 to 7 pm and funeral service is 10:00 am Tuesday, July 3 at Resthaven Mortuary. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established with Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice.
