Chester Ralph Ridge Jr.

Chester Ralph Ridge Jr., affectionately known as “Chess,” passed away on August 1, 2025, in Wichita, Kansas, at the age of 59. Born on July 18, 1966, in Wichita, Chess lived a life full of energy, love, and dedication to his family and community.

He was the beloved son of Chester Ralph Ridge Sr. and Carol Hunt. Chess was a proud CDL driver, known for his hard work and commitment. He had a passion for all things active—swimming, tennis, and baseball were among his favorite pastimes.

Chess was survived by his mother Carol Hunt; children Chester Ridge III, Sylvester Ridge, Chanessa Ridge, Chalissa Ridge, Jesse Ridge, Chessaree Ridge, Charlynn Ridge, and Daystarr Ridge; siblings Tosha Johnson, Semaj Stafford, Marquez Ridge, Trenna Ridge, Chessica Ridge, Ishmel Ridge, Mike Ridge; grandchildren Adrianna, Ashonaci, Jaylen, Samayah, Amani, Antoniah, Chester the IV, Titan, Champion, Cheikton, Gorgeous, Queen, Joshuah, Sir'bastian, Donovan, Chalynncia, Alexandria, Nova, Mega, Eli, Za'hyan, Za'lean, Zayden, My'kel, Ayntonio, Majesty, Zyair, Dasani, Kleo, Kyomi, Kalesie, Darece.

He was predeceased by his father, Chester Ridge Sr., and his son, Antonio Rudge.

Chess will be remembered for his vibrant personality, his love for family, and his active lifestyle. His presence brought joy to those around him, and his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
