Chris Burke

Burke, Chris A., 60, of Wichita, Kansas passed away on Monday April 24, 2017 in Wichita. Chris was born on September 24, 1956 in San Diego, CA the son of John "Jack" and Mary Evelyn Burke. Chris and Sharon Burke were united in marriage on January 8, 1977 in Wichita. Together they celebrated 40 years of marriage. Chris started working at Cox Communication as a dispatcher in 1999 and worked his way up to Business Project Manager until his passing. Chris was a lifelong member at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Wichita. He attended St. Joseph School and graduated from Bishop Carroll High School. He was preceded in death by his father, son, Adam Burke, brother, Steve Burke, sister, Cheryl Julian. Survivors include his loving wife, Sharon Burke of Wichita, children, Shannon L. (Tab) Baughman of Wichita, Michelle K. (Marty) Eshelman of Harper, KS, USCG GM3 Jonathan Christopher (Sarah) Burke of Wichita, SC EMS Lt. Sarah Cathryn Burke of Wichita, mother, Mary Evelyn Burke of Wichita, siblings, Robert Burke of Wichita, Judy (Jason) Murray of Wichita, Janet (Brian) Wilhite of Wichita, grandchildren, Michael (Jessica), Courtney (Andy), Emily (Caleb), Hailey, Tayler, Wyatt and Adam "Boedy", 5 great-grandchildren and his most recent faithful companion Lancey. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be 7:00 p.m. on Friday April 28, 2017. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. on Saturday April 29, 2017 both at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 145 S. Millwood Ave., Wichita, KS 67213. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Wichita, Kansas Memorials can be made to The Honored Adversis Foundation, 477 N. Seneca, Wichita, thin-blue-line.org (Provides timely and critical financial assistance to Brothers and Sisters of the Fraternal Order of Police) or to the Sedgwick County EMS Education and Training Fund, c/o Burke family.
