Craig Underwood

Craig L. Underwood, retired, age 74, of Wichita, Kansas passed away on Monday, January 8, 2024. He was born on July 31, 1949 in Wichita to Ronald and Loretta (Ernstmann) Underwood. He graduated from Chaplain Kapaun Memorial High School. Craig served with the Air National Guard. He spent his career in the restaurant industry as a cook, opening and managing restaurants, owning a food truck and opening his own restaurant in Tulsa, Oklahoma for a time. Food was his passion and he loved trying new recipes and creations in the kitchen. He also loved all things sports with a particular love for Oklahoma University (OU) after living in Oklahoma for many years. His favorite sports activities were playing golf and watching his nieces and nephews play sports. He also loved his dog, Jumanji, and they loved going to the dog park as often as possible.

He is survived by his son Bryon (Susi) Underwood, daughter Tina "Michele" Vanderhoff, sister Beverly (Andy) Fogg, brother Steve (Christie) Underwood, grandchildren Sharayha (Marcus), Sidney, Stephen, Addison and Landon, great-grandchildren Grady, Norah and Tillie. He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Rhonda LaFoe.
