Dan attended and graduated from Goddard High School in 1970. He married his high school sweetheart, Pam Hughes, two years later, in 1972. He had a tremendous love for airplanes and obtained his pilot's license at the age of 16. He spent the majority of his life in aviation, working on small aircraft with the Cessna Employees Flying Club and Textron Aviation Inc. before retiring in 2013. He always enjoyed all types of music. Throughout his adult life, he also loved boating, playing golf, watching sports, and being the grill master.
Dan was preceded in death by his parents, Leta Raye and Harold Curtiss Dayhuff, and his sister, Pamela A. Morava. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Pam; his daughter, Julie Nelson (Woody); and his son, Clint Dayhuff (Annie). He was always so proud of his grandchildren, Sydney, Aidan, Lyla, Cruze, Charley, Spencer, Eric, and Brenna. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and many other friends and relatives.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 PM ~ 1:00 PM on Friday, October 2, 2026; Memorial Service will follow at 1:00 PM, both at Resthaven Mortuary, 11800 West Highway 54, Wichita, Kansas 67209.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial in Daniel's name has been established with: Victory in the Valley, 3755 East Douglas Avenue, Wichita, Kansas 67218.
