Darlene Hazen

Darlene lived her life with the glass half full and if your glass was half empty by the time you were done talking your glass would be running over the top. From early childhood her smile could brighten any room and she was known as the life of the party and could always make you laugh.

She was a graduate of North High School and she met her husband Ted of 61 years on a blind date on Teds birthday. They began their life together and raised two children, Tammy and Bryan. Darlene was a hard worker and worked with management for Excel Corporation for 38 years prior to retiring at age 58 to spend more time with her husband, kids, and grandkids. She loved life and battled cancer, beating it twice. Her hobbies were swimming, fishing, sharing inspirational stories on facebook, cooking, toastmasters, playing cards and spending time with her family.

Darlene is survived by her husband of 61 years, Ted Hazen; her 2 kids, Tammy Delgado (Nickolas) and Bryan Hazen (Denise); grandchildren: Eric Delgado, (Jamie), Emily Deviney (Max), Phillip Delgado (Ashlie), Isaac Delgado (Karisa), Eric Warren (Sarah) and Alexandria Barker (Cody), "Darlene was told of a future great-granddaughter whos' middle name will be Darlene”; great-grandchildren: Estrella Delgado, Olivia Deviney, Lillian Delgado, Brooke Deviney, Jaxson Deviney, Aubre Delgado, Nicky Delgado, Lyllabella Cameron, Riley Delgado, Dawsyn Barker, Charli Warren,Tristan Adams, Rashaun Jones, Alanah Jones. Asher Jones; sisters, Linda Cox and Susan Richardson; sister-in-law, Delpha Schrader; nieces, Cindy Kohl, Briana Kohl; nephews, Timothy Newcomb and Jacob Kohl.

She is preceded by death by her parents, WD "Red" and Ethel Packard and her nephews, Lorne Cox and Lance Cox.

A visitation with the family present will occur Monday May 26, 2025 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Resthaven Mortuary, 11800 W Hwy 54, Wichita, Kansas, 67209. A Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, May 27, 2025 at 10:00 am followed by a Graveside Service in the Garden of Freedom, both at Resthaven Mortuary & Gardens of Memory.
