Darlene attended Argonia schools and graduated from Argonia High School. She later made her home in Wichita, Kansas.
Over the years, Darlene dedicated herself faithfully to her work, serving as a long-time employee of Mutual of Omaha, Boeing, and Holy Cross Lutheran Church. In every role, she was steady and dependable, carrying herself with quiet dignity and a sincere sense of purpose.
A devoted member of Immanuel Lutheran Church for more than 60 years, Darlene’s faith shaped the way she lived and loved. She taught Sunday school for over 30 years, volunteered each summer for Vacation Bible School, and sang in the church choir—offering her time and voice with consistent generosity and reverence.
Darlene’s greatest joy was her family. She was a loving mother and grandmother whose patience and kindness were felt in the everyday moments—especially as she cheered on her grandchildren at sporting events and school activities. True to the priorities that guided her life, she placed her family and God first in all things. When she was not gathered with those she loved, she found peace in her gardens, tending carefully to her flowers.
Darlene was preceded in death by her father, Louis Jacob Henry Fitz; her mother, Pansy Albadean Alloway-Fitz; her son, Scott Robert Kraus; and her daughter, Darla Diane Kraus.
She is survived by her sister, Elna Irene Fitz; her son, Ron Kraus (Shelby); her grandchildren, Emma Kraus - McCoskey, Brook Blew, and Logan Kraus; and 2 nieces and 1 nephew.
