David Charles Bloom

David Charles Bloom, aged 86, passed away peacefully in his home on August 8, 2026, in Wichita, KS. Born in Wesleyville, PA on November 30, 1939, David was a lifelong exemplar of kindness, gentleness, and devout Christian faith. He was a loving and devoted husband to Grace Bloom (nee May) for 65 years, having met her at a Youth For Christ event.

David's early education was completed at Wesleyville High School. His professional career was marked by significant contributions in various roles, starting as a buyer at the Boston Store in Erie, PA, followed by a 20-year tenure as a customer service parts expediter at Copes Vulcan, Inc. in Lake City, PA. In 1985, he relocated to Wichita, KS, where he served as the general manager of Capital Ministries and later at Teradyne Country Club from 1987 to 1990. He concluded his career as an independent sales representative, retiring in 2002.

An active member of his community, David was involved in several churches throughout his life, including First Alliance Church and First Assembly of God in Erie, PA, as well as Central Community Church, Bethel Life Assembly of God, and Ridgepoint Church in Wichita, KS. David was also a member of The Gideons. His dedication to his faith was profound and the guiding force in his life.

David loved embarking on many road trips and camping excursions with his family and in retirement, went on several cruises with Grace. Throughout their travels they visited all 50 states and the lower Canadian provinces, as well as several National Parks and Historic Sites. They even hiked the Grand Canyon together in 1994.

He is survived by his wife, Grace; children, Karen Bollard (Denny) and David Bloom (Richelle); grandchildren, Joey Barna, Karli Van Der Volgen (Jake), Jeff Barna, Jessica Reiswig (Justin), Aaron Bloom (Megan), Matthew Bloom, and Rebecca Johannes (Michael); and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Judith Viola (Sandell) Bloom, and his sister, Judy Allison.

David will be laid to rest in Lakeview Cemetery, Wichita, KS at a private ceremony. Details regarding memorial services are pending. Contributions in memory of David can be made to The Gideons International or Good Shepherd Hospice in Wichita, honoring his commitment to faith and community care.
