I was just going through an old rolodex of phone numbers that I've had since the 1980's when I worked as a buyer for FoxMeyer Drug Company.  Dave Waldschmidt was a salesman at that time, and was terrific to work with.  I have always felt bad because I nearly made him cry when a huge order of envelopes came through with an offset error.  I was just a kid, and didn't realize that I could make a man cry with only my words.  I have always regretted that, and just seeing his name today, it all came flooding back.  And so, just now, I find that I will never be able to apologize to him.  He was a wonderful man, and I feel privileged to have known him.  Gone too soon. My best wishes to his family. As you know, David was my first love, my first diamond, my first for many things in life.  We enjoyed our young lives running between Ark. City, Dexter, Aunt Beannie's, and dinners at the Lake house.  He was so full of laughter and joy in those days, we both were really.  As he got to know and began to run with more Ark. City kids the farther apart we grew until at long last we knew each other no more.  I have only learned more of David in the past few years and have prayed for him and his family.  My heart felt condolences go out to you and his family as you endure this heartache Camille.  God bless you!

Becky, Seth and Family. David and I were Cousins. His Father and My Father(Max) were first Cousins. David was raised in a good family . Hard working folks. David had the gift of carpenter ability. The Waldschmidt all loved to build things. They build homes and farms from the ground up and buildings in Arkansas City, Ks. They were always building and my Mom said she thought the Waldschmidt men were born with "hammer and nails" in their hand.
 David had a great smile like in this picture in the obituary. I am five years older then David. he was always fun to be around. He loved the family and very proud to be a Waldschmidt. He was proud of his wife and son's

To David's family ....I'm so very sorry for your loss. I went to school with David at Dexter for 9 years.  "Class of 70"!! Many fond memories. What a great picture! He was always so much fun, again my deepest sympathy.

You were an amazing man/father& coach for our baseball team you sponsored. One of my fondest memories of you took place on our very last game as a team. We were down by 3 points, last at bat was Landon, bases loaded, Landon steps up to the plate, swings, & hits a grand slam!  We were all jumping for joy as we won by 1 point! The look on your face as a proud father will always be in my memories! I'm so sorry Seth & Becky for the loss of a great man. If you guys ever need anything please know that I am always here for you guys.
