Debbie found her calling in caring for others as a Nurse, and earned her Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from Wichita State University in 1984. The light of Debbie’s life was her four sons, Thaddeus (Amanda) of Lincoln, NE, Gavin (Andrea) of Portsmouth, NH, Bryant (Morgen) of Lakeport, CA and Seth of Pocatello, ID. Debbie was immensely proud of her four sons and leaves behind a beautiful legacy in them. She loved taking road trips, seeing friends and was always up to share a bottle (or preferably, box!) of wine. She was happiest when she was able to have her family together. Debbie was constantly helping and caring for others as an Intensive Care Nurse for 36 years. She excelled in her career and received the Daisy Award for Extraordinary Nurses from Banner Health.
Debbie is survived by her mother and stepfather, Trudie and Maurice Sturdy of Sun City West, AZ, and her children. She was preceded in death by her father, Harold and brother, David.
Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, February 27, at St. Francis of Assisi in Wichita, KS. Debbie will be laid to rest in the Garden of the Last Supper in the Resthaven Gardens of Memory. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a mass be offered in Debbie’s memory and prayers said that she rests comfortably in the sight of God in Heaven.
