Dennis was first, and foremost, a family man. He loved his wife, children, and grandchildren deeply, and made sure that they always knew so. He also adored his in-laws, and was always a helpful and loving man to them as well.
He also was a huge supporter of and volunteer for the American Youth Soccer Organization (Region 208). His kids always played on the soccer teams with his primary rule being that they had to have fun, or it wasn’t worth doing. His coaching talents, and being a positive role model will be missed greatly by the AYSO. He will also be missed in the stands at Sporting Kansas City games as well.
He is survived by his parents; loving wife, Marla (Martin) Hanson; children, Melissa Hanson, Sarah (Adam) Northup, and Deryk (Lauren) Hanson; and grandchildren, Elysia Culver, Clayton Culver, Drayke Hanson, and Riley Hanson; sisters, Debby (Craig) Walter and Susie (Blaine) Tharp; niece, Nicole (Kurt) Kerns; and nephews, Kory (Ashlee) Tharp, Shane Tharp and Tyler Walter.
A memorial service to celebrate Dennis’ life will be held in the chapel at DeVorss, Flanagan-Hunt Mortuary on Friday, May 6, 2022 at 10:00 a.m.
