Dixie Lee Kelley, 89, retired middle school teacher for Derby School District after 35 years passed away on Friday, December 26, 2014. Dixie was a homemaker, a business owner of a restaurant/bar and also was a welder in CA shipyards during WWII. She belonged to National Honor Society and KNEA/DNEA. Preceded in death by her parents Leland and Bertha (Bristor) Cropsey and husband Don L. Kelley. Survived by daughter Kevin Kay (Robert) Miller, son William L. (Barbara) Kelley both of Wichita, brother Kay E. Cropsey of Tucson, AZ, granddaughters Kristin Kelley, Tracy Hitch, Holly Anne Miller all of Wichita, great-grandson Riley M. Hitch, nieces, Courtney (Brent) Hume of St. Charles, MO, Catherine Nelson of Tucson, AZ, Barbara Rahne of New Orleans, LA, Diane Burkard of Loveland, CO, great niece Leslie C. (Casey) Eberlin of Alton, IL .
