

Dolores remembered with great fondness her early years including being the Valedictorian of her class at St. Mark’s Grade School, her studies at Sacred Heart Academy, which lead to the position of Secretary to Bishop Mark K. Carroll, and then a position as Secretary to the President of Wichita State Bank.
She married Dick Watson on January 25, 1949, at St. Mary’s Cathedral, Wichita. The couple owned and operated Wichita Press, Inc. for more than 27 years. She was most proud of her role as mother and homemaker to her two children, Mark and Beth.
In her retirement she maintained an active role in her church and worked for her favorite charities including Right to Life, Birthright, and the Guadalupe Center.
Proceeded in death by her husband, Dick Watson; grandson, Wesley Watson; brother, Bernard Smarsh; and sister, Alfreda Siewert. She is survived by her brothers, Lavern Smarsh, St. Mark’s, Duane Smarsh, Andale; sister, Mardella Hunt, Wichita; son, Mark (Debbie) Watson, Cheney; daughter, Beth (Robert) Foulk, Lee’s Summit, Missouri; and two grandchildren, Jordan and Morgan Watson.
Rosary 7pm, Wednesday, March 6, 2013, at DeVorss Flanagan-Hunt Mortuary. Mass of Christian Burial, 10am, Thursday, March 7, 2014, at Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception.
