Don N. Corning

80, passed away June 10, 2016. Don was born to Virgil and Vivian Corning on July 1, 1935 in Wichita. He worked for the Wichita Police Department for over 20 years before retiring in 1977 as a Lieutenant. Don was a member of Albert Pike #303, Midian Shrine, and an active member of Potwin Christian Church. He was an avid fisherman, and loved camping and spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 61 1/2 years, Beverly; sons, Donald (Ann) Corning Jr., Mark (Anita) Corning, and Curtis (Pattie) Corning; brother, Dale (Bonnie) Corning; 7 grandchildren, Weston (Amanda) Corning, Lindsay Corning, Kelly (Josh) Hood, Michael Corning, Amy (Matt) Hajdukovich, Gerald Spears, and Becky Spears; and 11 great grandchildren, Hadley Corning, Hayden Corning, Christian Strother, Zachery Strother, Sarah Hajdukovich, Lindsey Hajdukovich, Becca Hajdukovich, Quentin Weigle, Alex Weigle, and Wyatt Weigle.. His Celebration of Life service will be held at Resthaven Mortuary on Wednesday, June 15, at 10:00 AM. Memorials may be made to Potwin Christian Church at 224 Violet Ave, Potwin, KS, 67123.
