Grimsley, Dorothy M. Custer (Weeks), 87, was born at home on June 19, 1924 near Fairview, Oklahoma to Irving J. and Minnie Frances (Wheeler) Weeks and passed away on January 1, 2012. She was married to Carl Rex Custer from 1941 until his death in 1966. They moved to Wichita with their four children in 1955. She was married to Richard W. Grimsley from 1976 until his death in 1998. Preceding her in death are her parents, one brother, four sisters and daughter, Joyce Wood. She is survived by her son Rex Custer (Sharon West) of Wichita, daughters JoAnn (Gary) Gerringer of Durham, KS, and Diana (Ed) Krivanek of Goddard, son-in-law Chuck Wood of Rose Hill, 7 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are stepsons Arnold, Richard, and Bruce and stepdaughters Regina Turner, Annette Smith and Darlene Hall. Services will be held at Resthaven Mortuary on Friday, January 6, at 12:00 p.m. Visitation with the family will be at Resthaven on Thursday, January 5, from 6 – 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established with Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice at 313 S. Market, Wichita, KS 67202.
