Payne, Dorothy J., wife, mother, and friend passed away on March 26, 2012. Her husband of 55 years, Roy J. Payne; her parents Philo and Mary Bear; her brothers and sisters Elizabeth, David, Clarence, and Virginia preceded her in death. Two sons Michael and Mark and her daughter in law Susan; three grand daughters Jennifer, Katherine, and Elizabeth; and her dear friend and life-companion Art Van Dresser survive her. Dorothy was active in civic, religious, and community affairs, always reaching out to support those around her with her energy, friendship, and faith. She was a leader in her church and the Daughters of the Nile. She will be greatly missed by those fortunate enough to know her. A memorial service will be held for her at Riverside Christian Church on Friday March 30th at 10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be sent in Dorothy’s name to either Riverside Christian Church or The Midian Shrine Plane of Mercy, 130 N. Topeka, Wichita, Kansas.
