He served four years for The United States Navy. Later he worked as an A and P Mechanic for over 30 years at Cessna aircraft until retirement in January of 2018.
He was an active member and past commander of the VFW 3115. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, family, and friends. Doug loved riding his motorcycles. Doug never met a stranger. He was the life of the party and could make anybody laugh.
He was preceded in death by his parents Emory Coffman and Sally Bagley, and one brother Ron Coffman.
He is survived by his two children Collin (Lesley) Coffman, and Chelsea (Chilo Hernandez) Coffman; 3 grandchildren Reed Coffman, Aubriella Hernandez, and McCoy Coffman; significant other Paula McCullough; 3 siblings Linda Anderson, Jeff Coffman, and Marc Coffman and many other relatives and friends.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, December 17th, 2022 at 1 p.m at the VFW 3115, 4801 W. Douglas Avenue, Wichita, Kansas 67209. A burial will be held at a later date at Horton Cemetery, Horton, Iowa.
