Duane C. “Dewey” Dater, 65, retired shipping/receiving clerk for Westar Energy passed away on October 23, 2016. Dewey graduated from Bishop Carroll High School in 1969; he then attended Wichita State University where he received a B.S. in Accounting. Preceded in death by his parents Stephen and Rose Marie (Simon) Dater. Survived by his sister Faith (Wayne) White of Hutchinson, brother Roger (Pam) Dater, aunt Catherine Simon both of Wichita, nephews: Eric White, Travis Dater and Logan Dater, nieces: Kamila White and Amber (White) Howard, six great nieces and four great nephews. Rosary 4pm, Sunday, November 13, Mass of Christian Burial 10:30am, Monday, November 14 both at St. Joseph Catholic Church with burial to follow at Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial to Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary of Wichita or Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice.
