Rishell, Dudley A. Jr., passed away Wednesday, August 15 in Lenexa, KS. Dudley was born February 9, 1922 in Wichita to Althea G. and Dudley A. Rishell, Sr. He was married June 16, 1946 to Melba Louise West Rishell, who preceded him in death. Survivors include his three children: Robin (Jack) Johnson of Bloomingdale, Michigan, Kimberly (Jim) Gillespie of Overland Park, and Michael (Ann) Rishell of Wichita; four grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. He was a 1939 graduate of Wichita East High School, and a member of Pi Alpha Pi fraternity while a student at the University of Wichita. He served in the 21st Infantry, E Company during World War II, with time overseas in Australia, Dutch New Guinea, and Japan. He was a career employee with the U.S. Postal Service, and a founder of Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church. A memorial service will be held Monday, August 20 at 10 am at Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church, 1600 W. 27st N., Wichita, KS 67204. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are welcomed to the Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church Health Ministry.
