

McCollom, Earl, 86, passed away October 17, 2012. Proprietor of McCollom Motors for 25 years. Earl was fascinated with flying machines from a very young age and had his pilot's license by age 17. Along with his wife of 68 years, Phyllis, they piloted their planes to many events/destinations across the U.S. Earl belonged to several recreational pilot associations. In addition to other activities and his devoted church involvement, he was a member of Gideons International and flew Bibles around the state. Earl also served on the Board of Directors of the Union Rescue Mission for many years. He is survived by his wife Phyllis and six children; Jennifer (Jeff) Elliott, Carol (Eugene) Mussat, Mark (Kay), Marilyn (Mike) Rudick, Dan (Darlene) all in the Wichita area, and David (Sue) of Centennial, Colorado. A son, James, preceded him in death. There are 14 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. Memorials established: Gideons International, 1637 W.
