Edna Ann Nichols

Born on May 23, 1949, in Winfield, Kansas, to Kenneth E. Swinney and Bettie L. (Uptegrove) Swinney, Edna lived a life centered on family, hard work, and simple joys.

She worked for Evcon and York International from 1993 to 2007. Edna loved spending time with her family and grandchildren. She enjoyed fishing, various hobbies, and working around her home—building things, tending to her yard, and staying active.

Edna married Dennis W. Nichols on April 3, 1975. He preceded her in death on May 2, 2004. She was also preceded in death by her parents; infant brother, Jess D. Swinney; and granddaughter, Rylee Nichols.

She is survived by her partner, Debbie Dreher; sons Chad Nichols (Dana) and David Nichols (Crystal Sellars); grandchildren Shawn, Cameron, Ethan (Paige), Kelton, Kadin, and Katelyn; great‑grandchildren Dennis, Lucus, and Emilia; and brother Carl E. Swinney, along with many nieces and nephews.

Edna will be remembered for her love of family, her hard-working spirit, and the joy she found in simple, everyday moments.

Visitation will be held at Lakeview Funeral Home, located at 12100 E 13th St N, Wichita, KS 67206, on January 9, 2026, from 9:00 am to 10:00 am. Following the visitation, a Celebration of Life will take place at the same venue, beginning at 10:00 am.
