the 3rd of May 1941 to William L and Edna Lee Wilson in Anthony KS and she graduated from
Cheney High School in 1959. She worked in the restaurant that her mother owned. She was a
lunch lady at the elementary school in Cheney when her kids were going to school there. She
worked at the nursing home in Cheney and Goddard and when she moved to Wichita she
started work for Presbyterian Manor for 15 years and Lincoln East Nursing home for 30 plus
years where she retired.
Edna Mae loved her family so much, she was always ready to celebrate someone’s birthday, or
being on a bowling team with her mom Edna, sister Wilma and daughter’s Chery, Carol Ann and
Connie Sue or supporting the Wilson’s Racing Team, Jerry Don and Henry at 81 Speedway, or
going on vacation to Arizona to celebrate her momma and daddy’s wedding anniversary or
taking Justin and the many foster kids that she had living with her to Branson. Besides the love
for her family she loved going to the church at Westside Church of God where she was raised
in, every Sunday and singing in the choir with her sister Wilma and Grandson Benjamin and
playing Mary in the live nativity that was held at the church. After the passing of her husband
George she learned how to play the organ and she loved to play a song for anyone that came to
see her at her house. She spent the last 2 years living with her granddaughter Melody and her
kids and spent every week with her great great granddaughter Josephine until she was called
home.
