Elsie Mathis 74, loving wife, mother, sister, and grandmother, passed away July 23, 2017. She was born April 7, 1943, to Chester and Lorraine Spillman in Wichita, KS. Elsie bowled on a league at Seneca Bowling Alley, she also enjoyed going to the casino, crafts and attending her grandchildren’s events. She was preceded by husband, Dewey E. Mathis; daughter, Tammy Johnson; parents and sister, Nancy Dodge. Elsie is survived by son, Kenny (Sara) Mathis; son-in-law, Darrell Johnson; sister, Jean Warren; grandchildren, Claire, Zach, and Maddie Mathis and Tyler Johnson. Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Friday, July 28, 2017 at Resthaven Mortuary. Memorials may be made to Motivators Sunday School Class c/o Central Community, 6100 W. Maple St. Wichita, KS 67209.
