York, Elva M., “Aunt Twin”, retired Major, US Army Nurse Corps, born May 10, 1921 and died April 17, 2014. Preceded in death by identical twin, Elta R. and 10 siblings. Her 22 year Army career encompassed duty in 13 hospitals around the world, including service during the Korean and Vietnam conflicts. She is survived by nieces Ann (Sherman) Edwards and Judith (Emmett) Kraus, their families and many friends. Visitation with family is 6 to 8 pm Tues. April 22 and funeral service is 10:00 am Wed., April 23 both at Resthaven Mortuary. Memorials to Trinity Presbyterian Church and Wichita Children’s Home.
