

Faye was born on August 4, 1931, and raised near the town of Rock, Kansas. She was the third of seven children born to Homer and Margaret Kistler. From an early age, Faye demonstrated determination, faith, and a strong work ethic. She attended Green Valley Grade School and became the first of her siblings to attend high school, providing housekeeping services to earn her room and board while completing her education. She graduated from Winfield High School in 1949, a milestone that encouraged others in her family. Following graduation, Faye moved to Wichita, Kansas, where she attended Wichita Business College and began her career as a legal secretary. In 1956, she married her beloved husband, Howard Mann, and together they shared 64 devoted years together. Their union was blessed with their daughter, Cinda, born in 1957.
Faye was a devoted member of Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church, where she served in numerous ministries and projects with the United Methodist Women. Faye was also a proud and longtime member of Phi Beta Psi Sorority, where she held national leadership roles and faithfully attended national conferences. She valued the fellowship, service, and lifelong friendships of this organization and gave generously of her time and talents. Faye treasured time spent with loved ones, especially at the family cabin on Santa Fe Lake, where laughter, fishing, and family reunions created joyful memories. Faye was a pillar of strength and encouragement for many who knew her, often lifting others up and offering practical help and support.
Faye is survived by her brothers, Roy (Allene) Kistler and Rick (Brenda) Kistler; her granddaughter, Jennifer Rose and great-grandson, Jacob Rose; her grandson, Sean (Valerie) Wyckoff and great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Isabella, and Jamile Wyckoff; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard; her daughter, Cinda Wyckoff; her great-grandson, Payton Rose; her sisters, Beulah Beard and Veda Floyd; and her brothers, Frank and Lloyd Kistler.
A celebration of Faye’s life will be held on January 8, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Lakeview Cemetery, 12100 E. 13th Street N, Wichita, Kansas 67206. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance, giving thanks for a life well lived.
