Francisco Rivera Velez

Francisco Rivera Velez, age 78, passed away on Tuesday, December 21, 2021. He was born August 23, 1943 to Francisco Rivera and Maria Velez in Lares, Puerto Rico. Francisco was a devoted husband, father, uncle, grandfather, great grandfather and friend who will be missed by many.

Francisco was employed at Ritchie Construction for over 20 years. He always had a passion for cars and family, which often crossed paths together. After leaving Ritchies, he became self employed as a used car dealer. It wasn't uncommon to see him at an auto auction of some type. On the weekends he enjoyed fishing, going to flea markets, and spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Francisco Rivera and Maria Velez; sister, Mercedes Rivera; and brother, Felix Velez.

Francisco is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Sharon Rae Velez; children, Troy (Stephanie) Velez, Eddy (Stacey) Velez and Tina (Mario) Collins; siblings, Olga (Carlos) Sanchez and Zaida (Wilfred) Muniz; as well as many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

A celebration of life service for Francisco will be held from 2:00pm to 5:00pm, Saturday, January 15, 2021, at Fraternal Order of Eagles, 1855 S. Sedgwick, Wichita, Kansas 67213.
