Ginny, which she preferred to be called, was born October 5, 1922 the third daughter to Pasquale and Dominica (Criscione) Monteleone in Kansas City, Mo. where she grew up with sisters Vivian (McFarland) and Francis (Weigle).
Ginny met John Joseph Faltermeier on a blind date and shortly thereafter fell in love. They married January 17, 1948. They made their home in various states WY., MO., NE., & finally KS. in 1972. Their union was blessed with five children: twins Daniel and Diane (Deines), JoAnn (Stone), John Jr. and Paul. Ginny and John were happily married for 51 years until the death of John on September 30, 1999.
Ginny was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and homemaker. She always found time to be there for family and friends, help with her parish and the community, pray, and travel. The couple enjoyed traveling together to many countries including Germany, France, United Kingdom, Ireland, Belgium, Netherlands, Costa Rica, Columbia and Panama. She especially enjoyed the cruises.
Ginny has prayed with the same rosary group at Saint Francis of Assisi Catholic Church since l972. She was a member of Wichita’s Red Hat Society, the Auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus and The Wild West FCE. She regularly volunteered serving meals at the Lord’s Dinner. Right to Life was one of her passions. She volunteered at the Right To Life, participated in many rosaries at Planned Parenthood facilities and volunteer at the Right To Life booth at the State Fair.
Surviving family include Daniel Faltermeier of San Francisco, CA; Diane Deines (Larry) of Galatia, KS; JoAnn Stone (Steve) of Wichita, KS; John Faltermeier (Nancy) of Lakewood, CO; and Paul Faltermeier (Melissa) of Shawnee, KS: ten grandchildren Kerri Demitrovic (Thomas) of Dobbs Ferry, NY; Audrey Pasvogel (Matthew) of Monument, CO; Meredith Brewer (Ryan) of Kentfield, CA; Ryan Deines (Jessica) of Shawnee, KS; Shawna Faltermeier and Tyler Faltermeier of Lakewood, CO; Benjamin Faltermeier of Shawnee, KS; Frank Faltermeier (deceased): twelve great grandchildren Alexis Demitrovic, Owen Pasvogel, Brooke Pasvogel, Lauren Demitrovic, Trent Pasvogel, Grace Demitrovic, Brycen Deines, Shane Brewer, Seth Deines, Fiona Brewer, Zane Deines, and Dax Brewer. Daughter-in-Law Sandy Faltermeier (deceased).
Funeral Mass will be Friday July 8, 2022 at 10 AM at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church at 861 N Socora St., Wichita, 67212 and will be preceded by a rosary/viewing service at 9:30 AM.
