George Edward Benton Jr.

A devoted husband, father, stepfather, and grandfather, George was known for his warm heart, steady presence, and love for his family.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Sandra Means Benton; his daughter Lauren and her husband Sean Walsh, and their children Addison, Parker, and Mason; his son Blake and his wife Mallory Benton; his stepdaughter Ashley and her husband Chris Hornberger, and their children Lucas and Logan; and his stepdaughter Meghan and her husband Zach Palacio, and their children Tyler and Leah. He is also survived by his sister Dena and her husband Doug Waller, and his sister Christie Benton. He is preceded in death by his father, George Benton Sr, stepmother Betty Benton, and his son Ryan Benton.

George recently retired as the president of a defense and aviation manufacturing company. He was known for his hard work, problem-solving, and dedication. In both his professional and personal life, George was admired for his integrity and willingness to lend a hand to anyone in need.

George found his greatest joy hosting family and friends at the lake with his wife. As a talented musician, he loved to sing and was in a classic rock cover band, "Midlife Crisis." George will be remembered fondly and was adored by his family, friends, and couples whom he married as an officiant.

He took pride in every role he played, especially that of “Papa” to his cherished grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 22, at GracePoint Church in Wichita, Kansas. All who knew and loved George are welcome to attend. A celebration of life will be held following the service from 2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. at Rolling Hills Country Club, 223 S. Westlink Street, Wichita, Kansas 67209.
